cell phone battery

I have a Nokia 6085 and I have been told I should not charge the battery while the phone is on? Is this true and can I use the phone while it's being charged?

That sounds ridiculous to me?

I have had over two dozen cell phones in the last 15 years and have NEVER turned them off to charge the battery.

I say POPPYCOCK!!

Lets see what other opinions there are?

You can charge while using, and you don't have to turn off to charge.

I have always owned Nokia phones and I always Charge them with the power on. And even talked on them while they were charging and nothing happened. As everyone else has already said you it's BS.

I own a Razr and it just depends. If the battery is depleted, you cannot charge and talk at the same time. It cannot run on charging power alone. The battery must have at least some charge. Motorola chargers are special because they can charge the cell phone at a faster rate.
