How do I use an unlocked phone with another sim card?

My name is Kaity

I have a Nextel i850,
and it's been absolutely nothing but trouble.

I was going to buy an unlocked Razor phone, but before I did I thought I would see if my sim card would fit into a Razor.
I tried my sim in a Razor, and it worked, it asked for a Subsidy password.
I called the Nextel assistance, and the worker said she had no idea what a subsidy password was, and said Razors didn't have a sim card.

So that didn't help me.
What I'm wondering, is can I use an unlocked Razor with the Sim card that I received with my i850?
And how would I go about receiving the Subsidy password, so that I can use the Razor.

Thanks.

take it into your local nextell office.

Some phones will not work with some systems, I know with AT/T I have merely gotten unlocked phones including Razors and they would just work as soon as I put the sim card in them.

call nextel back and tell them to give them the subsidy number for your phone, if the person doesnt know what it is ask to speak to comeone else...
explain that subsidy password is what an unlock code is on a motorola. if they keep playing dumb then just hang up and try again later, basicly they dont want to unlock phones but they have no right to deny you the code which is why its easier for them say they dont know what you mean

but its not guaranteed to work because i hear that nextel uses iDEN for their phones, which if its true then other operators sims (which are GSM and CDMA) wil not work
