Decoding and Unlocking of Mobile phones

I will like to know all it takes to unlock and decode mobile phones including the software and hardware requirements that will be needed towards achieving this task

What phone...what service is the phone locked for...and to what service did you want the phone to work on?

I just bought a motorola e680i from someone and when I turn the phone on it asks for a unlock code..I've tried all the basics like 1111, 123,1234,12345, 0000,000000 etc..is there a master code or even free software that I can download to obtain the code or reset it?

An unlock code would be the code that the original owner had already implemented...kind of like a password for a computer. You should ask the original owner.

Motorola e680..unsure of who the carrier is and need it to work for t-mobile

Rively74, I believe your issue is different than the OP. The OP wants to unlock from say, AT&T phone so that it will work on t-mobile.

What you're asking is that you can't even use the phone at all because someone has "locked" it using their own password.

Did I get that right?

That's correct..so is there a free software download that I can use to reset the phone and get rid of the passcode?
