Rip Music from CD's

I'm trying to Rip CD's. But my Windows Media Player is saying that A CD drive is needed in order to Rip music from Cd's. Any One know what I need to do to get that CD drive back up and running?

sometimes my computer tells me i don't have a cd. when i know that i do. i just restart it and it goes back to normal, at least for a while. i don't remember what my bf says causes it, he says there's so many things wrong with it i should just get a new one. but for now i'm stuck restarting it a lot. have you tried that yet?
