Have 2 CD drives;neither one is working

I'm trying to recycle an older desktop. It is running Windows 2000. It has a floppy drive (A, a CD drive (D and a DVD Drive (No drive given). The A: drive works fine. The D: drive does not read anything and ejects cd's. The DVD drive shows up as a physical location but does not show up in Device Manager. It accepts DVD's but they don't show up anywhere. How can I get either drive to work?
