DVD RW Drive Won't Open. Why not?

I can't open my DVD RW drive anymore. The button that used to wrong doesn't anymore. I've tried the paperclip method and that doesn't seem to be working. I have a feeling that I'm having an internal problem. Any suggestions?

Have you tried to shut down your computer and then restart
Does the light light up when the machine restarts
You can try to start hitting the eject button as the machine is restarting
After restart, try paper clip again, you have to hit the mechanism just right for it to eject the cd with paperclip
Try the paper clip with the machine off
