I think my cat is pregnant.
What are the signs for a cat being pregnant?

Mitzi has been very affectionate of late which is not like he at all - her beely has grown enormous and she is eating more than normal. She lloks rather unhappy and does not really now what to do with herself most days.

She is not even 1yrs old yet?

I hve included a pic below of my two cats.

Tillie is the Tabby and Mitzi is the Black & Whte one.

Being affectinate, purring constantly, and walking around,as though looking for a place to settle, cooking the dinner in the kitchen... doh... forget that last one.Just place an old towel,or something in a quiet corner, and leave the cat to "get on with it".When the kittens are born, could be five,or six, don't touch, until your cat has literally sorted them out.Maybe a day or so later, try and get close, but don't interfere too much, and don't move them from the mother cat.Good luck. Please post any future pics to show how they are... er,if your cat is expecting.

Me either. My Cassie was with me for 14yrs - but we have her done, so did not give her the opportunity. Tillie has been done also- but we felt we ought to let pne have an opportunity so we chose Mitzi! Its all new to me but very exciting!

I lost my Cassie a few months back (She looked a lot like Tillie) - she just disappeared and never came back - broke my heart.

Purina Cat Chow: Cat Care Center: Adult Cat Care Center

Hi dear. Check this site - they have a variety of information for you. There are not may sites as involved with pets as there are with us, but it's a start.

When our outside cat was pregnant, she was not a full year old either. It depends on what season they were born, and when they get into heat. Sammy had three kittens and the first one had to be helped out of the 'bag'. After that, Sammy knew what to do.

If your kitty looks for a place to 'make a nest' don't clean the area up, she'll just have to find another place and will be stressed. They usually like to have something familiar (i.e. a towel or shirt with your scent) in the nest so as not to feel totally strange.

Your best bet is to take her to the Vet and get reassured, just like with us humans.

    Your kitties are so cute!

    Good Luck!

Cheers for the link Chery the site looks pretty good and thanks for the tips. Mitzi always chooses to sleep on my bed; so perhaps the blanket that is on my bed would be ideal for her.

My kitties are very cute - yours is too. What's his name?

Well Mitzi gave birth to 4 health kittens last night. 2 Black & White, 1 Black Tabby and 1 Grey Tabby.

The Black Tabby is going to be mine. Considering my Cassie (who I lost) was a Black Tabby! - I am not trying to replace her, but I miss having a companion?

They are so small and tiny - but so so cute!

She gave birth in my mums wardrobe in the early hours of this morning, on a blanket of mine. My mum was up with her all night.

Congrats on the kitties. I once had a cat decide that my lap was the best place to give birth... lol.. talk about a mess. I think that if I look as good as your cat after giving birth I'll be doing great... lol.
