    Smelly hardwood floors
I recently pulled carpet and found that the hardwood floor smells of cat urine. What can I use to mask the smell. I am planning on putting laminates over the original floor.

I have pulled baseboard, going to fix high spots on floor, going to put moisture block down then install floor. It really smells can I use baking soda, lye, help.
    Thanks

Go to your local chain pet store and get "Nature's Miracle," or "Petzyme." Both work. The only difference is cost. They are an enzymatic solution that will "eat" the bugs causing the odor.

The only thing you can do is mask the odour is to cover it with shellac products. I recommend a clear shellac sealer. Those stupid solvents don't work one bit. There are no "bugs" causing the odour, it is the chemical compounds in the urine that will not be destroyed.
