    Well Diana Ross is famous for the original, but I think you are referring to
    Jackie DeShannon.

    The title of the song is "What the World Needs Now is Love". The lyrics are, "What the world needs now is love, sweet love. It's the only thing that there's just too little of." It was written by Burt Bacharach and originally recorded by Jackie DeShannon in 1965.

    It's been recorded by dozens of people over the years.
