| | | My kitten was ok last night but today very lethargic Hi, my kitten is 5 months old and is normally a very bouncey happy moggie, however since this morning she has just wanted to sleep. I would normally just take her straight to the vets and i know this sounds awful but i haven't got any money.
she just doesn't seem interested in anything and just wants to sleep, she hasn't had her jabs as i haven't been able to afford them yet but she doesn't go out because of this.
I am just hoping that she hasnt caught anything nasty | | | | | | |

| What is your question? What's wrong with her?
At 5 months she hasn't had any shots?
There is no way to know if she's caught anything - only a Vet can diagnose her. |

| Never, ever buy or accept an animal as a gift if you do not have the money to care for it
And no excuses like "I only just lost my job" or "I just got a big bill" because this kitten should have been vaccinated when you got it.
Work out a payment plan with your vet, it's only around $50 for a consultation. |

| I notice from another post that there are two cats involved - when there is no money to pay for a Vet for either. |

| Yes I just found that as well.
I hope the older cat is up to date with his vaccinations otherwise he may get sick as well, the symptoms would just take longer to appear in an older cat as opposed to a kitten. |

| I was not being rude, I was merely saying that if you can't afford to care for an animal then you need to find some way to do so.
Get in contact with the person you bought the kitten from and see if they can organise a visit to the vet, if they are responsible they will help you out, if they aren't, well, you are on your own.
I know you want to keep the kitten but if it really is sick then you have no other option than to give it away if you can't afford to go to the vet.
What if it got hit by a car, or eat something poisonous?
You have to be prepared financially to handle emergencies when they pop up when it comes to pets. |

The whole World is in a recession right now.
If you were mislead by the person who sold you/gave you the kitten, contact that person, tell them the kitten is sick and needs its vaccinations and ask them for the money.
You are responsible for that animal's life. |

| The thing is, LV, that we cannot diagnose people or animals over the internet. It is a doctor (human or animal) that does the diagnosing based on a physical exam.
I have 4 dogs...my husband lost his job...one of the dogs is sick...my family (includes 2 young children) and I are eating leftovers (better than throwing food away) because we had to take that dog to the vet and pay for it up front.
Look at it this way...if your newborn baby, human baby, were sick, would you look for advice over the internet from strangers? I would hope not. |
