Have to get rid of 2 older cats.

A friend of mine has two cats that are about 10 years old. She just found out her two kids are allergic to cats & has to get rid of them. She feels terrible, but has no other choice. She has been unable to find anyone that will take them & is thinking about taking them to the pound. Any advice on other places she could take them? I would but already have 5 cats. Thanks!

Is there a no-kill animal shelter in your area? I'd take them but I already have three with two outdoor ferals probably coming inside for the winter and probably permanently.

There may be things she can do with the allergies and be able to keep the cats. Lemme check re that.
