Cat vomiting white foam then green liquid
My cat is a little over 1 year and a couple days ago she was vomiting a somewhat white foam a few times.after that I don't think she has vomited, but I'm not always home.well my sister told me she vomited green liquid today.so I was wondering if that is something I need to take her to the vet for immediately or if it might be caused by food or something of that sort.

That sounds serious... it could just be worms, but the really important question to ask is is she keeping food down? If she's throwing up after eating, or not eating at all then it could be a blockage like she ate something she's not supposed to or has a hair ball and that's potentially life threatening, or maybe she got into some anti-freeze? Sounds like enough to at least call a vet and ask about.

I think your cat has been eating grass which they do to help with furr balls I wouldn't think that she is ill but just keep an eye on her any way.

What you cat has is a URI (Upper respatory Infection) which is a cold. It is serious when cats get URI'S because they get congested and eat less. It can develop int broncidal pnemonia which is emergency room time. They start by an innnocent sneeze you might not even notice, and seems fine... then within 24 hours they start drooling, foaming out of the mouth and vomiting because they are trying to breath and cough and swallow flem all through their mouth at the same time. The vomit is usually green or clear and sometimes white. They drink less and sometimes stay in the same awkward position with their mouth gaped open from hours to a day at a time. The mouth is open because their nose is clogged. They look like they are dying and in shock with mouth wide open but as long as you make sure, by forceing with a syringe soft baby food flavor> (chicken with NO onions) (onions are toxic to cats) and water and keep them really warm and a lot of gentle attention and rest she should be fine. If it gets really severe go back to the doctor get antibiotics like clavamox. That is a common antibiotic perscribed nationwide for cats with URI's. I had 16 cats with it all at the same time. It is EXTREMELY contagious from cat to cat and is airborn. 2 were hospitalized the rest were fine. I know this post is old but this info can help others. Take care.

I looked on several different sights and do not see vomiting as a symptom of a URI. If green vomit were an indication, I would think something somewhere would say so.

So not only am I not finding this as a symptom, but you can't diagnose a cat on the internet. You can say "that sounds like," or "I think" or whatever. But not a definitive diagnosis as you're stating it. The "green liquid" is second-hand from a sister. We don't even know if that's correct. (Maybe it was just grass. I've seen that.) And I guarantee there is at least one other thing that could cause vomiting of white foam. So your "diagnosis" is based on about nothing.

And that's not even considering that it's a little late since the thread is from 2008.
