Is my cat finished giving birth?
My cat started having her first litter of kittens tonight at 8:15 pm. The sixth kitten was born at 10:30pm. SHe has been resting comfortable with the six kittens but she is still breathing quickly and between her legs, in the abdomin area there is this lump. When I feel it I think it might be akitten but I really am not sure. It's right between her legs.
I don't see her having any more contractions but like I said she is still breathing quickly but seems comfortable.
I know cats can stop giving birth for awhile. I just don't know what to think.

She may be done having kittens and the lump may be the afterbirth, however, if she starts to struggle or seems to be in pain you need to call the vet ASAP. Keep a close watch on her.

Thanks, I think she is done. It's the next morning. I half expected to find another kitten but I didn't. I think the lump is just swelling. I felt it again and it's soft. Mom and babies are doing well, thanks for your help.

Time to call an emergency vet.

Sometimes cats can have kittens a fair length apart but if she appears to be struggling then you need to get her to the vet now.
