You really need to know what you are doing because the gear ratios and all can be different.
My ex put a 454 in a Vega station wagon. He also did a Monza engine conversion in another small station wagon.
I had a minor difference in the motor I had put in my suburban and I had one problem after another because of the gear ratio's.

You're going to need to change over quite a few things....I'm not positive on what you'll all need but the computer def. needs to be swapped. Are you changing the tranny with the motor or just the motor itself?

It definitely can be done because they were both sold by ford. My advice is to buy a wreck with the engine you like and swap all the parts you need.

ddollinger agrees: That way all of the little nit-n-noid parts that you did not think you would need are right there in reach...

Be prepared to rewire the vehicle with the harness that operates the new motor. Without that harness and the correct Engine Control Module (ECM), your swap won't start.
Beyond that tiny aspect, ask: is the transmission is compatible? ... Is there going to be upgraded suspension for the additional weight? ... Is the rest of the drivetrain going to be upgraded as well.... trans and differential...??

It might just be worth considering purchasing a Stang that is already "ready."
