transmission sensors plymouth grand voyager 96

Hi,
I have a 96 Plymouth grand Voyager 3.0 L, and need to replace both transmission sensors (input and output) I found pictures on differents sites about the location, but once I lift the car and start figuring out.....I can't find them !!!!
where is exactly the location and what steps should I take to replace them? I already have the parts (sc103 & sc104.....parts manufacturer codes).

The input speed sensor is located to the left of the manual shift lever.

Thx Captain Rich,
my apologies for the completely lack of knowledge but how can I get to the Manual Shift Lever??? I've seen this picture before and tried to find it in the front of the vehicle down below the battery (or anywhere near the tranny) but I could find the sensors !!! (or is under the vehicle or need to open any part?? I removed the air filter to get a clear view but didn't help) and unsuccesfuly I followed the wiring to see the plugs on the tranny as well.
What the easiest way to replace those?

The switches are external. And the manual shaft is where the shift cable attaches to the transmission, right behind the range sensor. Both switches are on the front left of the trans, facing forward.
Everything looks different in the artwork. They show the switches without any connectors attached. Sorry...

I have a 98 Plymouth Grand Voyager. I was told by a mechanic friend of mine that the sensors on the four speed transmission are located internally and you have to pull the tranny to get to them. This is opposed to the three speed that the sensors are available like described in these diagrams.

This is what I've been told, I can't easily verify if it's true or not.

Just checked mine out, it had the sensor. Replaced it, and off I go!
