Hi
My suzuki was running fine.When i went to start it up again yesterday.it starts i pull the clutch but as soon as i kick it into gear. it jerks forward and switches off! while the clutch is still in....someone said it might be the kickstand but ive checked the wires and they seem fine..what else could be the problem?

To prevent you accidentally riding off with the side stand down ( that would make turning left very difficult ), they've put a switch at the top of the stand where it contacts the case. When the stand is down you can run the engine as long as your bike "sees" the stand down and Neutral. If it "sees" stand down and NOT neutral, it cuts the ignition. Now, having said that, you can try something, with a helper. Sit on the bike and start it with stand up. Put in gear and see if it cuts off. If it does, have your helper wiggle that switch while you try it again. Sometimes you'll be able to get it to wotk, but most likely the switch is so bad it needs replaced. I recommend a proffesional for this unless you are mechanically inclined.
