??? ok we have a 1995 Escort...5 speed...overheats going uphill or when the air is on....replaced the thermostat, with no change. Any other ideas???????? Thanks in advance and happy 4th.

Maybe you ned a rad flush or new rad.

This could be a number of things. I would start with looking at the radiator and air coil. Are they clogged with dirt, bugs, leaves, etc.? An air hose from behind it can fix that. Does your fan come on when the engine heats up? Check the radiator hoses. Do they feel spongy? They can collapse and block the flow of water. Unless they are less than say 3 years old, replace them just in case. Beyond having the radiator flushed, you may have to take it to a dealer or good independent shop.
