    88 civic fuel pump
My 88 civic wasn't starting so I thought it was flooding. So I clamped off the fuel line with vice grips to stop the gas but it didn't help but left me with another problem. Now the fuel pump isn't pumping the gas to the throttle body. Did I damage the fuel pump by doing this or can I get it to work again? Anyone got some ideas? Thanks

Try to take out the fuel pump and try it with the normal 12 volt battery, but BEFORE that, disconnect the black ground cable from your battery,or you will get your car in fire.Other wise, disconnect the main relay and jump the terminals 5 and 7 with a paperclip or some wire, you should hear the fuel pump running.(without taking the fuel pump out). The main relay is located here:
