2000 chevy cavilier. How do you change the injectors? Number 1 cylinder indicates problem with injector. Changed spark plugs already.

If the injector clicks when the engine is running, it may be okay. Normally, you:

. Depressurize fuel system.
. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
. Remove connectors from injectors.
. Disconnect vacuum hose and fuel return hose from fuel pressure regulator. Place a rag over hoses before disconnecting.
. Disconnect fuel hose from fuel rail.
. Loosen retainer nuts on fuel rail and harness holder.
. Disconect fuel rail.
. Remove injector(s) from intake manifold.
. Slide new cushion rings onto fuel injector.
. Coat new O-ring with clean engine oil and place on injector.
. Insert fuel injectors into fuel rail first.
. Coat new seal rings with clean engine oil and press into intake manifold.
. Install fuel injectors and fuel rail assembly in the manifold. NOTE: To prevent damaging the O-rings, install fuel injectors in the fuel rail first, then intall them in the intake manifold.
. Align center line on connector with mark on fuel rail.
. Install and tighten retainer nuts.
. Connect fuel hose to fuel rail with new washers.
. Connect vacuum hose and fuel return hose to fuel pressure regulator.
. Install connectors on injectors.
. Turn ignition switch to ON, but do not operate the starter. After fuel pump runs for approximately two seconds, the fuel pressure in the fuel line rises. Repeat this two or three times, then check for fuel leaks.
