Renault megane classic

Car will start, put foot down on clutch put gear in but car won't move help please does this mean my gear box has gone.

Yes, sounds like you may need a new clutch. Renaults are fun to drive, especially in Europe; however, the Megane's gear box has a reputation for being problematic.
