1990 Honda Civic Overheats

I have a problem and I cannot seem to find the solution. I have a 1990 Honda Civic with a 1989 Acura Integra Engine Swap in it, and it overheats. I replaced the thermostat a few weeks - a month ago and replaced coolant. I get heat from the heater in the car. The car will overheat after about 5-10 minutes when the car is at normal running temp. The oil is fine its not watery or anything. Any suggestions for an easy fix would be good, I dont think its the head gasket.

Could Be A Head Gasket. Any Slime In The Rad? Is There Any Milky Foam On The Dip Stick? Is Your Fan Working? Is The Rad Big Enough? Any Kinked Hoses? Engine Swaps From Breed To Breed Can Breed There Own Problems. Let The Engine Cool Right Off, Then Remove The Rad Cap And Run The Engine Up To Temp. And See If You Have Any Movement In The Rad . If It Has A Reservoir, The Reservoir Will Receive Hot Coolant When The Stat Opens Or Just After. Check These Things And Get Back To Me.

Another Thing: I've Seen Guys Stuff Rags In Rad Hoses, Axels Etc, To Help Prevent Leaks While Disassembled. They Dont Always Ge Removed. Any Chance There Is One In On Of Your Rad Hoses?

Alright sorry about the time I did not have lots of time to look over my car. So I got a chance and I did all those things and the only thing I found was that the coolent does not go into the resivoir and there is some sort of movement in the rad. Also the rad over flows very fast like 30 seconds.

Also When the car is at idle and it starts to overheat if I give it gas up to about 5-6,000 rpm the temp will raise a bit more then just drop back to normal temp. Also when driving the car for the small time that I did the temp gauge kept going up and then down.

Sounds Like A Head Gasket. Get It Checked By A Good Mechanic, Before Much More Serious Damage Is Done If Its Not Too Late.

No it can't be a head gasket if it was the oil would most likely be really watery, and there would be loss of antifreeze also anti freeze would blow out the exaust, none of that is happening so I dont think its a head gasket I belive its probably the thermostat or a clogged rad thanks for your help tho.

You Can Remain In Denial, But It Wont Resolve The Problem. I've Seen These Symptoms Alot, And They Always Turnout To Be Head Gasket Related. Refer Back To My First Email. Sometimes Things Arent As They Appear. There Are Many Years Experience, And Hundreds Upon Hundreds Of Satisfied Customers Here. Seek A Reputable Mechanic And Get Your Problems Solved That Way.

I finnaly got around to looking at my car agian and I took the thermostat right out and now my car does not over heat so i guess it was my thermostat that was at fault but thanks anyways I appreciate your help.
