Removing rotor from 1992 Hounda Accord LX

How does one remove rotor from 1992 Honda Accord LX? I did replacemthe cap, but was unable to remove the rotor. Does this rotor have set scre (my new one does not)?If so then how do you access the set screw? There is a black plastic cover plate. Thanks

I don't know enough about Hondas to know if it has a set screw or not. Look under the plastic plate and remove any screw you fine. Look the rotor over carfully, removing any screws you find. If you didn't find any, it may just be corroded in place. Spray it good with penetrating oil or lube. Give it a few good licks with a hammer, and spray it again. Let set over night. spray it again with penetrating oil. If you are removing it to replace it, have at it again with the hammer. Keep giving it a shot of spray.

I just replaced my rotor and cap this morning on my Honda Civic 91 DX...it should be pretty similar.

Anyway, once you take the cap off, you have the ignition coil on top and some kind of plastic cover below the rotor. You remove the cover by sliding it down (no force needed, no bolts, just slide it down). Once that is off, there should be a bolt on the rotor, but it might not be visible. Now don't try to turn the rotor around, rather put the car in gear (5th gear would be best) and have someone (your wife?

) push it until you see the bolt. Now move the car until you can "comfortably" undo the bolt, and from there it's pretty simple.

Anyway, that's how I did it on my Civic.

OOPS! Please do not follow my first post! I was confused, thinking it was a brake rotor.

CroCivic91's instructions sound like they should work. Sorry for not reading your post more carefully.

if your new 1 does not have a screw then there should not be a screw it just pulls off .. they are very hard to pull off carefull not to break the black cover or that can cause misfire good luck

also if u want to be sure that it dont have a screw there is no need to put the car in gear and push it all u have to do is bump the key (out of gear )and rotor will turn over

I just replaced my rotor on my 1992 Honda LX. there was no screw. I spun the rotor until the connection part is lined up with the indent on the plastic cover. Then gently nudge the rotor off. Then place the rotor on top. I had to tap mine to get it seated.

After looking at the rotor it seems to me there is and was never a screw holding this thing on.
