| You might check the antenna, perhaps even substituting another one. It may have failed in a way to give signal the AM needs, but not FM. The AM/FM switch could be bad. Taking the radio out, taking it apart, and checking and replacing the switch likely is a real pain. Other than something simple like that, all but the most expensive radios are not worth fixing. If you replace it, the work of removing it won't be for nothing.
