Radio code for my 2004 honda accord ex?

My stereo for my 2004 Honda Accord EX is not working and i need to enter the audio code for the stereo to work. Can anyone please help me with any information?
How can i retrieve the code?
I have read these kind of questions that were asked by other people and i understood that you need the serial number. Where can i find the serial number?
Can anyone please help me?

Unhook your battery and hold + & - cables together for 10 seconds ( this will clear codes)
next replace cables on battery. hold preset buttons 1 & 6 down at the same time and release.
turn on radio and write down the 8 digit serial no. to give dealership. they will give you the codes
