volkswagon radio

Recently my son purchased a volkswagon Jetta (1998)
His radio is in a safe mode. What is this and how do we
correct this?

the previous owner should have it...
its a built in security feature that causes the radio to not work until the proper code is inputted..more headaches than anything...
enter in the code and you should be fine...
if previous owner doesn't have it goto local dealer.. show that you just purchased the car so they know its not stolen and they should be able to find the code no problem..might cost around $40-50 though... from what i hear around here...call ahead to see how much...good luck

I own a VW Pssat 1995 and the radio went into safe mode, how do i CORRECT THIS PROBLEM?
