Lost travel trailer title

I bought a travel trailer. It is an old one and I lost the tite before I even transferred it into my name. I am now trying to sell the trailer and people tend to shy away because I dont have a title. How do I go about getting a replacement title for this old trailer or is there some sort of lost title affidavit that can be filed by myslef or the new owner in Texas??

generally speaking you need to go to the state DMV office where it was last titled and apply for a lost title.

In NY only the titled owner can get a copy of the title. If this has never been transferred the person who still holds the title must get the copy.

There are a few exceptions but the paperwork is extensive and the process is lengthy.
