I recently bought a 2000 Chevy Blazer from a dealer in North Carolina. Took the vechicle in for an oil change, they said I had leaks all over the place, rear seal etc. Took to a Chevy dealer, they said maybe it's just a clogged pcv valve..end results...need $2000.00 worth of work for leaks. My husband keeps checking oil and antifreeze....fluids are full, if i had such bad leaks, why are my fluid levels full? Did dealer rip me off where I purchased the vechicle? Is there lemon law in NC on used vechicles? Or is the Chevy dealer looking to rip me for $2000.00. Love my blazer..help!

I am not up to speed on the laws but I think you need multiple repeat issues or mutiple seperate issues. One engine with multiple leaks does point to a bad PCV system and I am not sure it would be considered a lemon, IMHO.

Most used cars are sold as is, was there a warranty witht he purchase, why did you not get the car inspected prior to buying it. As a buyer you have some responsibity to check out a car before you buy it.

But no, I do not beelive this is covered under any lemon law. I would take it to another shop ( not a car dealership) first a dealership is going to cost about twice as much as simular repairs at toher good priviate shops

I agree with DIJ on the NC lemon law. I'm sure these leaks aren't to the point where oil puddles are forming on the ground. IMHO, oil seepage past the seals on a GM motor is very common.
It's job security for a guy like the one checking yours out and trying to sell some work!
If the work is sold, great for the guy doing the work. Also great for you and piece of mind but a big debt to pay.
I wouldn't lose sleep over this, it's up to you if you want this done, or trade it for a newer Blazer. Make sure that PCV is changed, tho.
