why :i cant hear the cd.( my 2000 ford explorer eddie b radio i cant hear the cd but i do hear the radio.

I don't mean to sound condescending but did you try pushing the mute button? It could be something as simple as the button is sticking or maybe the unit itself has an issue.

its not on mute cause the radio plays and the sound is fine. but when you put in a cd it saids cd on mute.

I'm not an expert but I would say it's something internally wrong. It obviously shouldn't be switching to Mute just because you put a CD in.
