Have you looked at scan tool data yet?
Why to you suspect the MAF?
What does this car's maintenance history look like?

Engine idles extremely rough until off idle and then it runs fine, power is good. When idling it spits back into the intake. Could this be a MAF problem? Engine idle doesn't change with MAF unplugged.

Wayne, sounds like it could easily be a bad MAF Sensor. Without a scan tool, you really won't be able to test the sensor. If you have over 100,000 miles on the car, I would replace the MAF Sensor, along with any seal. Ensure all fasteners are snug.
