    How to test fields in car starter.
    Should the brushes hooked to the field lite a test light when grounded to the case.

    Think about the circuit that you are testing: are you looking to prove continuity, or amperage draw?
    Could you better test the circuit with a voltmeter and measure voltage drop along the series?
