Check engine light indicates car idles high.......

Possibly, the throttle cable is out of adjustment. There may be two nuts and a bracket securing the throttle cable to the throttle body. Loosen the outside nut and tighten the inside nut, which should lower the idle speed. Since I'm not familiar with your exact car, see if this common configuration is applicable to your Saturn.
