My little Honda CRX is driving unusual. When I go over 50 mph and push breaks my steering wheel starts to vibrate and shaking, the whole front of the car is shaking. It only happens when I push breaks and try to slow down. What causes that? Balancing tires? Need new brake shoes? New tires? Thanks for your advice.

Warped brake rotors cause the steering wheel to shake while braking. You may only need to have the brake rotors measured for sufficiant thickness and resurfaced, though this might be a good time to have quality brake pads installed.
Today's free-floating brake rotors are prone to warpage, partially due to lesser materials being utilized to try keeping the cost down, but they can also warp simply due to driving habits. If you do a lot of stop-and-go driving, like in city traffic, or you do frequent hard braking, you will experience more frequent warpage due to rapid heat build-up. Try allowing more time and distance for braking and avoid jamming on the brakes whenever possible.

Sounds like you have a bad case of Lateral Runout (LRO). Take your car to Honda, or a reputable brake shop, with the forethought that the front discs and pads likely need to be replaced. LRO problems often develop, after discs have been turned to the axis of the lathe, not the axis of the spindle. The ProCut machine is OEM-recommended and turns discs to the axis of the spindle. Stick with OEM discs and pads.
