Honda Civic Center consul vent cover

I am trying to replace my center vent cover and it is one big piece. My problem is I cant get the hazard button off oor the climate control buttons to the left. I am on day 2 now and will cost me a fortune due to having so many panels off now! please advise 2000 Honda civic ex
