honda civic 2001 GLI does start

Hi all

I have bought honda civic from an auction. Car model is 2001 and has problem with its starting.

When i turn on the switch all lights in the main display turns on. and when turn the switch to ignition , starter motor rotates the engine and at the same time green key indicator starts blinking while key on ignition position.

I think it has got to do with the remote of car. I have tried to open the doors with remote that works fine but it seems the orignal key has been changed..

Please help me if any one knows what does greet key blinking mean in the speedo screen.

thank you
