Ford Excursion lock wont work!

Ford Excursion lock wont work!

I have a 2001 ford excursion and the top trunk door that folds up wont lock.It wont even lock when we try to use the key to lock it by the key hole.I am trying to find out how to fix it so if anyone can give me some info on how to fix that would be great!
