1995 honda civic 5 speed manual

my civic wont start grrr making me mad when I turn the key to the start position all the lights on the dash are supposed to light up but they dont and when I go to start the car it turns over but wont fire or start unless I hold the key in the proper position for it to run but once I let go the car will shut off to me it sounds like the ignition switch needs replaced could there be anything else I should know
