engine check light

I have a 2002 A6...the engine check light does not come on when I start the car. Has anyone had this problem?

That car can also suffer from poor pin fit at the Engine Control Module (ECM) connector and at the instrument panel cluster connectors..
If the bulb isn't burned out, you'll need to dig much deeper.
