clutch peddle pressure

Hi, Tx, i appreciate all your help you've been giving to all of us!

clutch peddle pressure:
1990 Honda civic DX 5 mt. 267,000 miles.

the clutch peddle pivot pin bent seemingly because of high pressure exerted on clutch peddle. i replaced the pivot pin bracket (which includes the pin). After a short time, the new bracket and pin failed (again).
we removed the bracket, and replaced the pin with a piece of tool steel, and increased the diameter of the new pin.
No problem after doing this.(new assembly holding up well)

question: what happened to cause the initial failure? can i expect another failure?
and how can I determine what the pressure should be?

I've never heard of a problem like your's before. Try lubricating the pin with synthetic grease with moly:
