Chevrolet Cavalier 2002

All of a sudden, out of the blue, my car starts squeaking and creaking. Sounds like the front end is going to fall out. It is specifically when the tires go over a bump. Doesn't get worse when turning or pulling into my driveway.
Does it need a lube? Is it the shocks? Is it the chassis? Help.

I have an 02 Cavalier and the only 2 grease fitting I have found are on the steering arms. With the struts, there isn't that much to squeak. I guess the bushings where the A-frame pivots, or the ball joints could be bad. I guess it wouldn't hurt to squirt some spray lube around the A-frame or the strut mount at the top. Even if it is only a temporary fix, it localizes the problem.

I have 60,000 miles on my and haven't done a thing to it. I hate some of the stuff like the theft deterrent and power windows, but it has been a very good car. I have the Ecotec engine and a 5 speed.

if you take it into a shop, they would fix you right up by greasing through all the fittings and check the wheel bearings etc. most of the time the wheel bearing may squeek and needs a fresh regrease, sometimes it'll be a pivot point, and sometimes it'll be a shock.
