peugeot 106 automatic mechanical faults

hi all i have a problem with my 106 auto well two probs really, first is the auto box drives in the top ratio in the D position, i have no low start off gears and no audible upshift noise. occasionally the kick down will engage when the accelerator is pressed down , it should have a variable ratio but i think it is electrically switched to" up and down shift" can anyone diagnose my problem on the g/box..secondly while driving. the car will suddenly cut out and i have to wait a few mins till it runs again,i have changed the fuel pump relay also the coil but not the pump itself can this be a fuel injector relay,or the actual pump my car has only 40,000 on the clock any help gratefully heeded..
