Changing brake light bulbs on 96 Toyota Camry Station Wagon

I need to change a brake light bulb in the tailgate of my 1996 Toyota Camry Station Wagon. I have a Chilton's repair guide but it says nothing about the lights in the tail gate. How do I can access to change the bulbs? Thank you.

I'm not familiar with your model car, but the procedure is probably similar to other makes:

1. Open tailgate, then remove the bulb housing, which is usually secured with two Phillips #2 screws.

2. Remove the bulb from the bulb housing.

Bulb housing often contains a back-up light bulb and a brake/taillight bulb.

Thanks. Unfortunately there is no apparent way into the light housing. There are no screws on the outside of the car or the edges of the tailgate. The only opening behind the light housing is the speaker grill/cover. There are no apparent screws or tabs to remove the plastic cover from the inside of the tailgate! I hate to just start popping stuff off and end up breaking things.
Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Carefully take a small screwdriver and pry along the edge of the inside cover. There might be clips that allow the whole cover to be removed.
