Transmission & Tail Lights & Squealch

I have a 1993 Toyota Corolla with 166,228miles, just bought it used

1.) My transmission has a leak, what is the best "leak stop" product to use?

2.) The tail lights on the driver side dont work. I finally got to them and they are rusted into the sockets, with the bulbs broken. How can I get them off, without replacing the sockets them selves?

3.) When the car is started, there is a squealing/squelching sound, and after a minute or two it quits. Sounds like a fan belt or water pump...any ideas?

Despite what it may sound like the car actually runs fine, besides the issues above.

Thanks in advance for any help!

The only leak stop is to repair the leak. Nothing should be added to the trans to quick-fix leaks. Carefully machined valves and solenoids could be damaged.

If they're that badly corroded, you're better off replacing the sockets and their stubby harnesses. Call your local salvage yard and compare prices.

The accessory drive belts are probably loose or worn. If you just bought the vehicle, replace them now and drive off with confidence.

Do you plan on doing some of your own work, or will you be seeking a qualified tech??
