It really varies, depending upon the vehicle. Most Honda water pumps will last until the timing belt needs changing, which will be 90,000 to 105,000 miles. However, I replaced the water pump in my 2000 Taurus DOHC engine at 85,000 miles.

One of the keys to long water pump life is to use a 50/50 mixture of automaker-recommend antifreeze and distilled water, changing it every 30,000 miles or 3 years.
