Dodge d150 wont spark need an expert

my truck is a 1985 dodge ram royal se with a 5.2L carbureted engine. my problem is that it wont spark.
i have installed brand new:
distributor
spark plugs
spark plug wires
ignition coil
and ignition control module

i shouldnt say that it wont spark actually because it will every once in a blue moon 10-20 turnovers of the engine( and thats one checking on the #1 cylinder)

Be thorough or you'll end up wasting time and money.

. Check for codes.

. Check for power going from the ignition switch to the distributor. Turn the ignition switch ON. Measure voltage between BLK/YEL (+) terminal and body ground. There should be 12+ volts read. If not, repair open in BLK/YEL wire between the connector and ignition switch. Consider checking the ignition switch and harness for wear, pitting, or melting, if necessary.
