c-4 transmission no drive

ive got a ford c-4 tranny behind a 302 in a 1972 toyota landcruiser.i just recently replaced the motor, and since then have had an ongoing tranny problem.it started leaking out the forward servo or intermediate band piston. ive been trying to remedy these leaks, but they have been leaking more and more each day.ive been refilling as to not run dry, but have been filling it slip more and more and now it has just gone out all together.i still had reverse strong though. the other day i rebuilt intermediate servo piston assembly, and valve body as to make sure all pistons were moving freely. found that the piece that goes between piston rod and band had broke off.in half rather, and in doing so took a nick out of the valve body, but not over a piston or anything, it was a tiny piece that did nothing and didnt open any passageways or anything.i found some pistons to be sticking alittle and lubed them up.rebuilt VB and int. servo piston and put back together.now i have NO reverse, and no drive at all. and i dont have my full range on the detent lever only goes to d2 no d1.could this all be in the linkage adjustment, or could the band be slipping thats why no forward gears? i know the reverse thing is something i did, just dont know what? the band ends sit about between 1/4 and 1/8 inch apart. does that sound normal or worn out?could this be my clutch pack?i can fix it, but i dont know what the heck it is thats messn eith me. thanks for any input sean
