It will likely cost around $2,500 to fix, if the head and valves need machining.

My old car's head gasket blew and it would have cost me $1000 to fix. I said H*LL NO! It wasn't woth it to me because I paid only $500 for the piece of crap anyways.

What year is the Acura? The only reason my car wasn't worth fixing was because it was a 1994 and piece of junk to begin with. If the Acura is in good shape and the miles aren't racked up it might be worth it.

I would find out the value of the car and consider the mileage and whatnot. Then, I would call around and find out prices and see how much the head gasket repair will cost. Mine only costed $780. Then, I would talk to the guy into selling it for $700-800. So if your car was worth $3,000, and all you had to put into it was $1,500...then it might be worth it.

it might be cheaper to buy a used motor for a few hundred bucks and swap yours out. look on your local craigslist to find side job mechanics, who do side jobs to supplment their income.
