Blown Fuse

A brief background before the problem occurred. This morning I was caught in a traffic jam, wherein I had to idle the car for about 15 mins. Thereafter the driving was normal until I stopped at a traffic signal for over 145 seconds. This time I had switched off the engine. I was unable to restart the car. Initially it jerked but did not start. I then checked the starting fuse, it had blown. After replacing the starter fuse, it was normal. To get to the root cause, why did the starter fuse blow out? - Venkatram

What is the year and make of the car? Was the fuse labelled starter fuse or are you calling it that? Where was this fuse located?
