Bad Gas ?

I have a 1994 chevy 1500, 4x4, ext.cab with the 350. I bought it with 33,000 miles on it. It now has 240,000 miles. I have always changed oil and serviced it on time. The truck has been great, never any major problems. I have been having some issues lately however; it wants to spit and sputter. I thought it was bad gas (water) so I put some
c-foam and heet in the tank. It seemed to help for a couple days but started acting up again. The truck only has one fuel filter on the frame.....I changed it, when I took the old one off I couldnt even blow through it. I knew I had the problem fixed.......I thought. The truck ran good for 3-4 days, then it started acting up again. I pulled off the filter and replaced again. The filter I took off was hard to blow through for a second but then seemed to have whatever was stuck in it come out and it was easy to blow through. A long story cut short I have done this 3 or 4 times now. I change the filter and it runs good for 10-15 miles then after I shut it off and re start it ..............spit/sputter and no power. I took the fuel supply line and stuck it in a gallon jug........turned the key on and off a few times and collected 1/2 gallon of gas. The gas looked good and clean. I didnt see any reason for this problem. I am a contractor and not a mechanic.......I can do small stuff but am at a loss here. Is there any thing I can do outside of taking the tank down? I would be happy for any advise any one could give me!!!!!
Mike

Have you had the fuel pressure tested to make sure that the pump isn't just getting weak?

Agreed, Or the possibility of the pick up screen restricted. Either way, it's sounding like dropping the tank.
Definitely first do what the above poster said and have a simple fuel pressure check.
btw, dropping the tank is really not that big a deal.
