Am radio reception

Does anyone know the proper length of an AM radio antenna?

Does the extension cord going to the antenna make a difference?

Is the grounding through the coax cable to the antenna enough or should I have more grounding (since it is mounted on fiber glass?

I would also like any suggestions on getting better AM reception in a motorhome.

Thank you

Pat
