100-300 rpm tachometer variations, associated with transmission power surges and slight vehicle accelerations, duration 3-5 seconds, frequency once or more each 2-5 minutes.

Occurs at highway speeds with cruise control ON or OFF, less often in cool weather.

Three transmission shops found no problem using standard transmission tests, test gear, and test driving. One opinion - possible electronic controller circuitry problem.

Do you have any info. about this problem?

I have heard comments from one mechanic that auto manufacturers maintain databases on history and performance of their cars components and parts. If such databases exist, can local mechanic access the information on problems like this one?

Have someone check the TPS. I had a similar problem on my 2001 Dodge Truck and the replacing the TPS solved the problem.
